MSI Product News-MSI's Portable ECG Device receives Taiwan Excellence 2008 Award

Medical device developer and manufacturer Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. received the Taiwan Excellence 2008 Award for the first "Made in Taiwan," professional-grade, 24-hour portable electrocardiogram (ECG) recorder and analyzer – MyECG E3-80.

Taiwan Excellence Award is a competition organized by the Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in an effort to improve the image of Made in Taiwan products in markets abroad. According to the Quality Enhancement, Product Design Ability Enhancement, and Image Enhancement Plans of MOEA, each competing product's design and development innovation, quality control, marketability, and branding abilities go through strict evaluations by the review board before being nominated for the Excellence Award.

After 5 years of research collaboration with top medical professionals in Taiwan, MSI has produced Taiwan's first professional-grade ECG recorder and analyzer. Development of MyECG E3-80 followed the most stringent guidelines in research, design, and marketing, and conformed to standards in medicine, quality, production, and management; this is exactly the reason why MyECG E3-80 was able to easily obtain the approvals and selling permits of the FDA, CE, and Taiwanese Department of Health. In a total of 601 competing products this year MyECG E3-80 was one of the few medical products that were nominated for the Excellence Award. Hence, MyECG E3-80 is setting a good example for future medical device developers of Taiwan.

The unique design features of MyECG E3-80 include its ability to perform on-device analysis. Most ECG products in the market today require PC software for further, comprehensive analysis of the ECG. The N9600GT graphics card series offers 3 selections for users to choose from: N9600GT Diamond, N9600GT-T2D2G, and N9600GT Hybrid Freezer. Highly Efficient Circu-Pipe and 5 phase PWM
The use of selected high-grade components is the common characteristic of the K9N2 series mainboards. Although the two mainboards have different market segments, they both come with MSI's exclusive Circu-Pipe design. Circu-Pipe can effectively reduce the high temperature from the chipset and MOSFET. This design improves the system stability and product life. The processor power supply of K9N2 series mainboards have five phases PWM design. Selected high-quality solid cap and Hi-c CAP!
The large-capacity capacitors on these two mainboards are high-quality solid capacitors that are made in Japan. These capacitors with low impedance and high ripple current and other characteristics provide better filtering effect. To further highlight MSI K9N2 series products, the PWM capacitors on these mainboards are based on Hi-c CAP. Hi-c CAP (Highly-conductive polymerized Capacitor) is a high grade capacitor. The look of HI-C CAP is similar to Tantalum capacitor which is used on mainboards in the past. But it has better ripple current and dissipation factor characteristic. The impedance values of general capacitor will differ due to the operating frequency change.
